Family Gateway Gets Big Bedding Donation

Dallas Morning News - March 22, 2011 - Thirty families in transitional housing at the Annette G. Strauss Family Gateway Center in downtown Dallas will benefit from the donation of 100 pillow-top mattresses, box springs, pillows, bedding and other soft goods.

The center is operated by Family Gateway, a Dallas nonprofit serving homeless families.

The items were donated by board member Jill Cochran and her husband, Jim, in partnership with Sleep Experts and First Baptist Church of Richardson.

Family Gateway has expanded its services in the past year to help about 230 families. The organization provides temporary housing in two facilities and places families in apartments with vouchers from the Dallas Housing Authority. It also works in partnership with Habitat for Humanity.
